Marshmallow Candy Corn People

October 27, 2015 Leave a Comment

I am SO stinking excited for Halloween on Saturday.  For the past few weeks Emma and I have been reading books about it and have been practicing saying “Trick or Treat.”  Not to mention doing some Halloween-y crafts and taking a visit to the pumpkin patch!!  Needless to say, she seems pretty excited about Halloween and has even picked out her own pink pumpkin treat basket at Target.

I also made Emma a costume this year that I am really proud of and can’t wait to share.  (Nevermind the fact that she has had zero interest in wearing it.  I am still optimist though. Who knows, maybe if she doesn’t wear it I will?!?!)  I am also super excited to decorate pumpkins this week.  I got a bunch of glitter paint and glue and glittery add-ons for the pumpkins that will be right up Emma’s alley.

Costumes and pumpkins aside I also have a couple cute desserts up my sleeve and an apple cider sangria recipe that I want to break out.  And these cute marshmallow candy corn people are one of them.  I LOVE them.  In fact, I saw these on pinterest last year and have been waiting all year to make them.  They are just so stinkin’ cute.  I know Emma is going to love them as well. In fact, I had to hide them from her because I knew she would love them so much.

All you need are jumbo marshmallows, yellow candy melts, orange candy melts and a black cake pen.  You could also just buy the white candy melts and dye them orange and yellow but hey, anything to make our lives easier, right?!

First I melted the orange candy melts and then dipped the marshmallows in about 2/3 of the way through. I then set them on parchment paper to dry. (I let them dry overnight to break up the preparation time but an hour or two should be fine).

Once the orange chocolate dried, I melted the yellow candy melts and dipped the ends of the marshmallows in the melted chocolate about 1/4 of the way.  I then set them down on parchment paper to dry.

Once dry I put little eyes on the marshmallows with a black pen.  ADORABLE.  If this doesn’t say Happy Halloween I don’t know what does:).

Hope you have a very safe and Happy Halloween!
