I was never a huge eggnog fan until I tried Hood’s Limited Edition Vanilla Holiday Eggnog. When I drink it I feel like I am having a vanilla milkshake. It is delicious.
Since then, I have started to make it into a tradition to have this Vanilla Eggnog the night we are decorating our tree. Very original I know. Anyways, I love it so much that I put it in a cookie. YUM.
Sooo, if you are looking for a festive and easy holiday cookie for your holiday plate or cookie swap…look no further. This cookie is delicious and even if you don’t like eggnog you will like this cookie!

2015-12-01 12:46:40
Cookie
- 1 1/4 cups granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup butter, softened
- 1/2 cup Vanilla Eggnog (or if you prefer regular eggnog)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 egg yolks
- 1 teaspoon nutmeg
- 2 1/4 cups flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
Glaze
- 1 1/2 cups of confectioners sugar
- 4 TBS of eggnog
Instructions
- 1. Preheat oven to 300 degrees.
- 2. Combine the flour, baking powder, cinnamon and nutmeg and then set aside.
- 3. Cream the butter and sugar together in your mixer.
- 4. Add your eggnog, vanilla and egg yoke. Beat at a medium speed with a mixer until smooth.
- 5. Add the flour mixture and beat until combined. Do not over-mix.
- 6. Spoon cookies out onto parchment paper. Make sure to make the dough balls on the small side as they will spread out in the oven (I used a tablespoon spoon to do this). Sprinkle with nutmeg.
- 7. Bake for approximately 17 minutes, until the edges are lightly brown.
- 8. Make the glaze for the cookies, then drizzle over the baked cookies.
- 9. Enjoy!
