I am back after a month long hiatus! It has been a crazy month as we hosted our first party, my daughter Emma’s baptism, this past Sunday. So needless to say we were very busy setting up and getting things ready these past few weeks. I feel that going forward parties will be a lot easier as we have now hosted one and have all the supplies and what not. I am already looking forward to hosting her first birthday party in 3 months!
The party on Sunday had a pink theme… pink decorations, pink flowers, pink desserts, and pink lemonade and bubbly! My pride and joy of this party however was the dessert table. After living in the city and not being able to host parties greater than like 10 people I am now in cake stand and dessert table heaven! So I did a lot of diy decorations…the garland, the letter E, and the pink table runner. I am really happy with how it all came together.
The dessert table menu:
Vanilla Cake with Vanilla buttercream frosting
Sugar Cookies with Pink Icing
Apple pie and pecan pie made by my grandmother
Macarons dipped in white chocolate with pink sprinkles made by my mom
Chocolate caramel pecan bars made by one of my aunt’s
It is my goal to make a cake for my daughter’s birthday every year so I felt like it was necessary to jumpstart this goal with baking a cake for her baptism. I was basically baking every night for two weeks straight as I was testing different recipes and I will be sharing the recipe I used later this week! Stay tuned!
